Where are you located?

2

I’m located in NW Oklahoma City near NW 122nd St. and N. Penn Ave. When you book a lesson, my address is on the Appointment Confirmation email you receive after booking.

Are lessons online or in person?

3

Both! If you’re not located in OKC, or even if you want to come in person some of the time, we can do online lessons whenever.

What is a first lesson consultation like?

4

First lesson consultations consist us going over your questionnaire, getting to know each other, understanding your specific needs and goals for lessons, and figuring out where to start before diving into the vocal lesson. It’s just a little bit more talking at the beginning of a normal lesson. The consultation portion can take a few minutes or the whole lesson depending on your needs, goals, and how long you’ve booked for the first session.

Do you have an age limit?

5

Yes and no.

My lessons, teaching style, and expertise are geared towards adults. There is no age limit on how old you can be to take lessons, as I am currently teaching people well into their 80’s. The majority of people who make up my studio are between 25-55 years old.

My hard age limit is for children under 9 years old. I highly suggest something like Kindermusik or Oklahoma Children’s Theater for young kiddos, and I think they would have a much more enjoyable experience!

My soft age limit are children under 14, meaning I do accept children between 9-14 years old, but I require talking to their parents first before booking a lesson, understanding why their child wants voice lessons, and determining if we would be a good fit.

A lesson with a child younger than 14 would consist of music theory, aural skills, piano, and singing and performing for fun, with little to no actual singing technique, which I believe to be the most age appropriate approach for children. A lot of younger kids obtain these skills already from their school curriculum or from a piano teacher. If that still interests you as a parent, please contact me here.
